LAR Managing Director Robert Clarke completed The Great North Run on 20th September 2009 in a time of 2 hours and 29 minutes with all proceeds going to the Diabetes UK charity. The run in the form of a half marathon was a first at this distance for Bob who has been a diabetic himself for the last ten years. Bob would like to express his thanks to his many colleagues and clients in the industry together with friends and family who sponsored him for doing the run. Bob has already registered for the 2010 event and will also be completing Blackpool 10k run in May as a warm up! LAR Ltd has raised over £4,000 for Diabetes UK during 2009 which included a donation in lieu of Christmas cards as part of our commitment to environmental issues.

In August 2008 the decision was taken to bring together our office based staff and compound operations within a new unit at Crossley Park . Managing Director Robert Clarke and Finance Director Andrew Whitfield were the appointed directors organising the move which was undertaken in three stages over eleven months. The project involved fitting out an empty shell unit which has resulted in a more streamlined operation and excellent working environment for all staff. The new office became operational on Monday 29th June 2009 and all clients are extended an invitation to call into the new office when they are in the area.

Our southern area office continues to expand under the guidance of Terry Pigram and work has recently started on phase two of the Camden Homes Improvement Scheme for The Apollo Group. Other key projects include work for Millenium and Copthorne Hotels Plc and HSBC. Dave Moore also recently joined the Southern team as Contracts Manager and can be contacted on Romford number.

 

Achilles

LAR has recently achieved Altius Elite Vendor status after being requested to sign up to the scheme by one of our clients. Being one of only twenty five companies to have achieved the accreditation the status achieved reflects our ongoing commitment in five key areas namely Risk Management, Commercial, Quality Management, Corporate Social Responsibility and Customer Service.

We are also now fully accredited to the Achilles Building Confidence programme having passed our audit in August 2009.

May 2010 sees the 25th anniversary of LAR Ltd as an independent concern. During this time we have undertaken many landmark projects and a series of case studies will be added to the web site over the coming year to highlight our achievements.
